Party names are redacted in the official published order.
Order
- The Tribunal orders suppression of the parties’ names and identifying details.
- The tenant owes the landlord $15,971.00 in rent arrears (“the debt”).
- The tenant shall continue making payment of $220.00 per week being $190.00 for current rent and $30.00 in reduction of the debt until the debt has been repaid. The next payment is due on 28 September 2023.
- Amounts received by the landlord from the tenant shall first be applied towards current rent and then reduction of the debt.
Reasons
- Both parties attended the hearing by telephone.
- The landlord has applied for rent arrears and has provided rent records which prove the amount owing.
- The tenant accepts the landlord’s rent records and has agreed to make payment of the arrears by increasing his weekly payments to $220.00 per week.
- The first $190.00 of such payments are applied towards his current rent and the remaining $30.00 is to be applied towards repayment of the rent arrears.
- As the parties have come to agreement by consent, it is appropriate that the parties’ names and identifying details be suppressed.
