- Rent arrears
Party names are redacted in the official published order.
Order
- Siobahn Connie Skilton must pay [The landlord/s] $1,180.44 immediately, being $3,480.00 rent arrears to 14 December 2023 and $20.44 application filing fee, less the bond.
- The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,320.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s] Immediately.
Reasons
- The landlord attended the hearing, conducted via video. The tenant did not join and a call out was made and answered. Both parties attended.
- The tenancy has now ended on 14 December 2023. The application for termination is moot and possession is now with the landlord.
- The landlord has applied for rent arrears and has provided rent records which prove the amount owing. Application filing fee
- Because [The applicant/s] has wholly succeeded with the claim I must reimburse the filing fee. Suppression
- Section 95A RTA states regarding suppression orders that the Tribunal must, on the application of a party that has wholly or substantially succeeded in proceedings, order that the party’s name or identifying particulars not be published, unless the Tribunal considers that publication is in the public interest or is justified because of the party’s conduct or any other circumstances of the case.
- The landlord requested suppression in his application. As he has been wholly successful, suppression is ordered.
