Reasons
- Both parties attended the hearing which was held by teleconference.
- The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears and refund of the bond.
- Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated. See section 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
- The landlord provided rent records which prove the amount owing as of today’s date is $9,825.00. The tenant did not dispute this amount.
- Due to the extent of the arrears, the landlord asked for termination of the tenancy as soon as possible, as of 10 June 2024. However, one of the tenants is currently very ill, and therefore requested they be given as much time as is possible.
- Because has wholly succeeded with the claim I must reimburse the filing fee.
