An application for suppression has been made in this case, and the Tribunal orders suppression of the tenant’s name and identifying details.
[The tenant/s] must pay Kāinga Ora–Homes And Communities Sha $663.00 immediately, being rent arrears to and including 27 January 2025.

Both parties attended the hearing. Ms Eder represented the landlord.
The landlord has applied for rent arrears and has provided rent records which prove the amount owing. Suppression
Both Ms Eder and the tenant applied, at the hearing, for suppression of the tenant’s name and identifying details.
Where a party has applied for name suppression and has been wholly or substantially successful in the proceedings, I must order that the party’s name or identifying particulars not be published (unless the limited circumstances set out in section 95A of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 apply). The tenant has not been successful in defending the claim. However, section 95A(4) of the Act provides that the Tribunal may, having regard to the interests of the parties and the public interest, order that the name and identifying details of a party be suppressed.
I consider that this is an appropriate case to exercise my discretion in the tenant’s favour and order suppression of his name and identifying details. Given the nature of the claim, in particular the relatively small amount of rent owing, and the circumstances under which it arose (the tenant claims that MSD have made a mistake in calculating the rent to be charged and is attempting to get evidence to support this), I do not consider that it is in the tenant’s interests or that there is any public interest in the decision being published.
