An application for suppression has been made in this case, and the Tribunal orders suppression of the Landlord’s name and identifying details.
The tenancy of Tautai Pati and Motootua Tugaga at [Tenancy address suppressed] is terminated, and possession is granted to [The landlord/s], at 5 pm on 11 April 2025.
Tautai Pati and Motootua Tugaga must pay [The landlord/s] $67,317.00 immediately, being rent arrears to today and the filing fee.

Reasons

Both parties attended the hearing. The tenant appeared only briefly at the beginning of the tenancy. She said she was taking a class and that she could not appear during the week, only on Saturdays and Sundays. The Tribunal does not sit at the weekend.
This has been a long-term tenancy and for reasons that do not need to be mentioned the tenants have fallen into very large arrears.
The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy and rent arrears to today.
Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated. See section 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
The landlord provided rent records which prove the amount owing as at today.
