- Rent arrears
Party names are redacted in the official published order.
Order
- An application for suppression has been made in this case, and the Tribunal orders suppression of the Landlord’s name and identifying details.
- The application by Jonathan Brimble[Tenancy address suppressed]. Possession is granted to [The landlord/s]immediately.
- The tenant has continued to occupy the premises but has now left but is liable to pay rent from 26 May 2025 to date.
- The additional rent to be paid as at today plus the amount awarded by way of the prior order is $5,514.29. The Bond Centre has already paid the bond of $2,080.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s].
- The balance to pay by Jonathan Brimble to [The landlord/s] is therefore $3,434.29.
Reasons
- Only the landlord attended the hearing. The tenant did not pick up calls placed to him.
- The landlord had previously had an order dated 26 May 2025 in its favour for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears and refund of the bond (the prior order).
- The tenant applied for a rehearing and the application was set down. An order for a stay was made.
- The Bond Centre sent the bond to the landlord.
- The tenant having failed to appear, the prior order is reinstated and the stay is lifted. The tenant must pay rent up until today because he did no vacate the premises following the prior order.
