- [The tenant/s] must pay Baath Rentals Limited as agent for Harmeet Singh Bhullar $968.43 immediately, being rent arrears to today’s date of $941.43 together with the filing fee of $27.00.
Reasons
- Only the landlord attended the hearing, represented by Ms Koirala. The hearing was scheduled as a video conference but Ms Koirala joined by phone. The Tribunal made two calls to the tenant but both calls went to voicemail.
- This tenancy began on 10 March 2025. The rent is $800.00 per week.
- The landlord had sought termination of the tenancy under section 56 of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 on the basis that the tenant was in arrears and they had issued a 14 day notice but the arrears had not been paid.
- Ms Koirala advised that in the meantime however the tenant has been attempting to clear the arrears and the arrears have been significantly reduced.
- The current arrears are $943.43 and the landlord seeks an order for payment of that amount.
- The landlord has been the substantially successful party and so I have reimbursed the filing fee.
- The landlord did not seek an order for name suppression.
