[The tenant/s] must pay Christchurch Property Limited As Agent For Owner $2,400.00 from the bond, being rent arrears to 31 May 2024.
The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,400.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to Christchurch Property Limited As Agent For Owner immediately.
The Landlord’s other claims are dismissed.

Reasons

The tenants attended the hearing.
The landlord has applied for rent arrears, compensation and refund of the bond following the end of the tenancy.
The landlord did not attend the hearing at the scheduled time, request an adjournment, or notify the Tribunal the matter has settled. See sections 78(1)(i) and 92(1) Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
I waited for the landlord for 15 minutes (from the scheduled hearing time) before starting the hearing. The landlord did not attend. I was about to dismiss all of the landlord claims but the tenants advised that they agreed to the bond being released to the landlord for 4 weeks rent at the end of the tenancy. I have made Orders accordingly.
The landlord’s other claims are not proved and are dismissed.
As the tenant had always accepted that the bond should be released for rent, and the landlord did not attend the hearing to prove its other claims, I have suppressed the tenant’s details and have not granted reimbursement of the Tribunal application fee to the landlord.
