Reasons
- The hearing was conducted on Microsoft Teams by telephone.
- Mo Poon attended the hearing for the landlord.
- The tenant attended on her own behalf.
- The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears, rent until the end of the tenancy, reimbursement of the filing fee, and payment over of the bond.
- Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The Tribunal must terminate the tenancy because s 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986 applies.
- Mr Poon provided rent records which prove the amount owing today and at the end of the tenancy (which shall occur in two weeks’ time).
- The Tribunal must order the tenant to reimburse the landlord for filing fee because the landlord has wholly succeeded with the claim. 1
- The Tribunal will direct the Bond Centre to pay out the bond to the landlord.
- The tenant sought name suppression. That may be entertained if the tenant pays the landlord for the arrears and makes a request to the Tribunal within one week.
