Reasons
- The applicant attended the hearing by video.
- The respondent did not attend or answer the phone. The applicant tells me they have moved overseas.
- The applicant initially asked me to award rent arrears of $1350.00 to the 5 th of September 2025 as well as a cleaning charge of $201.25 and the application filing fee.
- The applicant, post hearing notified me that the respondent’s mother had paid the claims that exceeded the bond and has reduced their claim to the balance of the rent arrears being $1080.00. They have sent me an email confirming this. I am satisfied this is what has happened.
- I have reviewed the rent summary and am satisfied that it is correct and that a balance of $1080.00 is owing.
- The applicant has asked me to supress their details under s95A(1) being the successful party and to suppress the respondents details using my discretion under s95A(4) because the respondents interests outweigh the public interest in the outcome of the case. I accept the applicants reasoning and have granted both parties suppression.
