Order
- An application for suppression has been made in this case, and the Tribunal orders suppression of the names and identifying details of both parties.
- By consent, the tenancy of [The tenant/s] at [Tenancy address suppressed] is terminated, and possession is granted to [The landlord/s], at 11.59pm on Friday 13 February 2026.
Reasons
- Representatives for both parties attended the hearing.
- The tenants have applied for a reduction of the term of their fixed term tenancy due to end on 6 July 2026.
- The parties agreed to end the tenancy today. I have made an order by consent to give effect to that agreement.
- There is a bond of $2,000.00. The bond will remain at the Bond Centre until the parties agree about whether it can be released. In the absence of an agreement, the landlord would need to make an application for costs from the bond and the tenants would need to make an application for a bond refund.
- I have not reimbursed the filing fee in this case because the parties reached their own settlement.
- Because the agreement reached is one that could have been reached at mediation which is a confidential process, I have suppressed the names and identifying details of both parties. There is no public interest that would justify publication.
