Reasons
- This application was scheduled to be heard by video conference. The tenant did not connect to the Teams link provided to her and nor did she ring in to the hearing as directed by the Notice of Hearing. I called the number provided for her and it went unanswered. The hearing therefore proceeded in her absence.
- The landlord claims rent arrears and reimbursement of the filing fee.
- The tenant left the tenancy on 10 January 2026. Rent arrears owing on that date was $2,042.86.
- I am also ordering the tenant to reimburse the filing fee to the landlord because the landlord was wholly successful with the claim against her.
- I have applied the $800.00 bond to the amount owing, reducing the tenant’s debt to $1,270.86.
- Further to this, I am allowing the landlord’s application for suppression of their names, again because the landlords were wholly successful with the claims. C ter Haar 10 June 2026
