Tenancy Tribunal case 5452433 — Rent arrears
Decided 31 Mar 2026 · Published 31 Mar 2026 · Application 5452433
- Rent arrears
Party names are redacted in the official published order.
Order
- An application for suppression has been made in this case, and the Tribunal orders suppression of the Tenant and Landlords name and identifying details.
- The tenancy of [The tenant/s] at [Tenancy address suppressed] is terminated, and possession is granted to [The landlord/s], at 5.00pm on 13 April 2026.
- The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,880.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s] immediately.
- [The tenant/s] must pay [The landlord/s] $9,494.07 immediately, calculated as shown in the table below:
Reasons
- Both parties attended the hearing.
- The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears, refund of the bond and reimbursement of two filing fees.
- The Tenant agreed to pay the Landlord the amount claimed for rent arrears, a previous filing fee paid by the Landlord for this matter and for rent up to 13 April 2026 when the tenancy ends.
- Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated. See section 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
- As [The applicant/s] has wholly succeeded with the claim the Tenant must reimburse the filing fee for this application and name suppression is granted to the Landlord.
- The parties have reached agreement regarding most of the Landlords claims and this Order formalises the agreement made. The issues are of nominal public interest and for these reasons, name suppression is granted to the Tenant.
