Order
- [The tenant/s] owes Kāinga Ora–Homes And Communities $7,015.00, being rent arrears to 5 December 2024 (“the debt”).
- [The tenant/s] must pay rent and the debt as follows: a. By weekly payments of $200.00, being $165.00 for rent and $35.00 for the debt. b. Payments will be every Thursday, with the first payment on Thursday 12 December 2024 and continuing until the debt is paid in full.
- Payments will be allocated in the following order: firstly to rent and then to rent arrears.
- If the tenant fails to make any payment within 2 working days of the due date, the balance of the debt owing will be payable immediately and can be enforced through the District Court.
Reasons
- Both parties attended the hearing which was held by teleconference on 6 December 2024.
- The landlord has applied for the recovery of rent arrears. The tenant has expressed a willingness to repay the outstanding debt.
- The parties have mutually agreed to the repayment arrangement, ordered above.
- If the tenant fails to make any payment within two working days of the due date, the full outstanding balance will become immediately due and payable. The landlord may then seek to enforce the debt through the District Court.
