The tenant joined the hearing late, when it was about to be concluded. The tenant explained that he had problems joining the video meeting via the link, and could not get through when dialling the telephone number. I have accepted the tenant’s reasons for being unable to join the hearing at the scheduled time. The landlord’s claims were then summarised, for the benefit of the tenant, and the landlord again explained the basis of each of the claims. The tenant was given the opportunity to respond to each claim.

The landlord initially applied for termination of the tenancy for abandonment, rent arrears and payment of outgoings (power, unlocking requests, key fobs). The landlord has withdrawn its termination and rent arrears claims. It has amended the application to include a claim for repairs to a shower door. The other costs are still sought.
