- The tenancy of Patuone Rameka Jnr at 103 Sievers Grove, Cannons Creek, Porirua 5024 is terminated, and possession is granted to Kāinga Ora–Homes And Communities, at 11:59pm on 14 April 2026.
- Patuone Rameka Jnr must pay Kāinga Ora–Homes And Communities $2,429.90 $3,350.86 immediately, calculated as shown in the table below:
Reasons
- A representative of the landlord attended the hearing, which was conducted by video conference. The tenant did not attend the hearing. Two attempts were made to contact the tenant by telephone at the start of the hearing, but they were unsuccessful. The hearing proceeded in the tenant’s absence.
- The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy and rent arrears.
- The landlord has provided a rent summary showing the amount of rent owing and that rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated in accordance with section 55(1)(a) of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
- The landlord has wholly succeeded with the claim. For this reason, I must order reimbursement of the filing fee.
- After this Order was issued the landlord advised the Tribunal that the rent arrears were incorrect. Having reviewed the Order and the rent summary provided, I am satisfied that the amount awarded was incorrect and should be $3,350.86.
