The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $3,600.00 (6422136-008) to Grenadier Rent Shop Limited immediately.

Reasons

The landlord and one of the tenants attended the hearing. The other tenant, Ms Ineson, was served and she did not answer the calls made to her telephone.
The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy for breach of the tenant’s obligations, rent arrears and refund of the bond.
The two tenants shared the rent equally. The tenant who attended the hearing submitted that she has paid all her rent. She said the arrears are because Ms Ineson moved out and stopped contributing to the rent. She said it was very unfair that she will be penalised. Unfortunately, the tenancy agreement was signed by both parties and the law says they are jointly and severally liable for rent. Orders are made against both tenants, and the landlord can choose who to pursue for payment.
