The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,240.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s] immediately.

Both parties attended the hearing by telephone.
The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears and refund of the bond.
Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated. See section 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986.
The landlord provided rent records which prove the amount owing at the end of the tenancy. The landlord also filed an updated rent ledger confirming the arrears as at todays’ date.
Because [The applicant/s] has wholly succeeded with the claim I must reimburse the filing fee.
The Tribunal must, on the application of a party that has wholly or substantially succeeded in proceedings, order that the party’s name or identifying particulars not be published, unless the Tribunal considers that publication is in the public interest or is justified because of the party’s conduct or any other circumstances of the case – section 95A Residential Tenancies Act
The landlord applied for a name suppression order. The landlord is entitled to name suppression as the application is successful – see section 95A RTA.
During the hearing the tenant raised a number of concerning issues with the property. These included, amongst other things, significant mould, dampness and mushrooms growing on the floor. She viewed this as serious especially given that she has a young child living at the address with her. The informal advice she received, although incorrect, was to stop paying rent. The tenant now understands that she is required to lodge her own application with the Tribunal to advance these claims. She confirmed during the hearing that she will do so.
I also order name suppression in respect of the tenant’s details. The tenant has not requested name suppression however based on the issues raised by her in response it is my view that suppression of the tenant’s name is in the interests of justice.
