The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,000.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s], immediately.
Cassidy Bernice Rapihana and Josephine Skinner-Rangi must pay [The landlord/s] $4,448.97 immediately, calculated as shown in the table below:

Reasons

[The landlord’s representative] attended the teleconference hearing on behalf of the landlord. The phone number for the tenants, the last three digits being 584, was called twice without any response. As the tenants were served, the hearing proceeded in their absence.
The landlord has applied for termination of the tenancy, rent arrears, outgoings, notice to quit and refund of the bond. At the hearing, the landlord clarified they no longer wished to proceed with the notice to quit claim, as the 90-day notice had expired.
Rent was at least 21 days in arrears on the date the application was filed. The tenancy is terminated. See section 55(1)(a) Residential Tenancies Act 1986 (“RTA”).
The landlord provided rent records which prove the amount owing to 14 May 2024, which is $6,071.43. Weekly rent is $500.00 so daily rent is $71.42. A further 5 days’ rent @ $71.42 is payable from 15 May 2024 to 19 May 2024, for a sub-total of $357.10. Therefore, the tenants owe the landlord a total of $6,428.53 in rent to 19 May 2024, which is the end of the tenancy.
The landlord also claimed $467.96 in water bills to 7 May 2024 and provided an internal office ledger setting out water charges. However, no water invoices were provided by the landlord. As such, I find there is insufficient evidence provided by the landlord for the outgoings claim and so this claim is dismissed.
The Bond Centre is to pay the bond of $2,000.00 ([Bond number suppressed]) to [The landlord/s], immediately.
Because [The landlord/s] has been successful with the claim I must reimburse the filing fee.
The landlord requested suppression. As they have been successful with the claim, they are entitled to suppression. Therefore, I order that the landlord’s name and identifying details are not to be published. See section 95A(1) RTA.
