Viliame Mahe Finau and Velonika Leola Taufa must pay [the landlord] $6,901.38 immediately, calculated as shown in table below.

Reasons

The landlord attended the hearing. The tenants did not.
I am satisfied that the tenants had received proper notice of the hearing time, date and place and chose not to attend. I tried to call the tenants and got one tenant’s brother, who said he would get the tenant to log into the hearing on the link provided in the notice of hearing, and the other tenant did not answer the phone. I waited for the tenant to log into the hearing, and he did not.
On 15 August 2024 the Tribunal made an order relating to this tenancy, for rent arrears of $5,869.49, water rates of $146.05, refund of the bond and the filing fee of $20.44. The previous order is incorporated into this order for enforcement purposes. The amount still owing from this order is $3,195.98.
The landlord has applied for rent arrears, compensation, and reimbursement of the filing fee following the end of the tenancy.

The tenancy ended on 24 August 2024. The landlord provided rent records and water rates invoices which prove the amount owing at the end of the tenancy.
